To truly appreciate the depth and detail provided by our home inspectors, it might be helpful for you to understand what a traditional home inspector evaluates. Let’s start with a simple definition:
“A Home Inspector performs a non-invasive visual examination of a residential dwelling, which is often performed in connection with a transfer of ownership, designed to identify observable material defects within specific systems and components of said dwelling”
So if there’s a problem the Home Inspector will find it and report it to you…right? Not necessarily. These SOP’s clearly state all the things that a home inspector does not evaluate like the presence of termites, mold, private wells, irrigation systems, swimming pools, sea walls, boat docks, utility sheds, and more. If that weren’t enough these SOP’s also limit the number of electrical outlets, doors and windows to be inspected, as well as limiting what parts of the plumbing system will be checked. The end result is a very limited inspection lasting 2-3 hours (depending on the size of the home) where only a “representative number” of items will be evaluated.
